Racer/Fabricator Steve Springsteel Passes
12/26/22: Very sad news has reached us that racer and well respected racecar fabricator Steve Springsteel has passed. Steve raced in the Modern Stock Division at both New Egypt and Wall Stadium from 1972 to 1984, and was the 1983 Modern Stock Champion at Wall.
Steve Springsteel at New Egypt Speedway (top photo)/Steve Springstell at Wall 1983 (bottom photo.)Friend and fellow driver Kevin Eyres added his thoughts on Steve's passing. "Steve was a former Wall Stadium Modern Stock Champion and an avid Wall Stadium fan. Steve was an extremely talented fabricator building many race car bodies, stock cars, and street rods. In the 80's you bought a new car and had Steve fabricate and hang the body on it, much nicer than Troyers."
"Steve and his father Charlie were avid race fans and they both went to Wall as often as possible. I was real glad to see Steve at this years Turkey Derby and spent twenty minutes talking. He was real proud of his latest street rod creation and showed me pictures. Steve always told you the way it was or the way it should be and has never changed in the 40 plus years I have known him."
"Rest in peace my friend and Godspeed."
We offer our condolences to son John, and to the entire Springsteel Family.

John Wyers Passes
John Wyers in New Egypt Speedway's Victory Lane after winning the 305 Sprint Feature Event (October 2010).
12/6/22: Veteran racer John Wyers has passed away. "Gentleman John" had great success in many racing divisions over the years including Go-Karts, Micro Sprints, Small Block Modifieds and Sprint Cars, with his most recent victories coming in the highly competitive 305 Sprint series.
A gentleman on and off the track, John's race cars were always the finest appearing, and when you got to meet John, it all made sense as you knew from talking with him that he approached things in a professional manner, and with a smile. The success he achieved was not by accident, but a result of who he was.
We send our sincere condolences to John's wife Patty, and to the entire Wyers Family.

Chic Cossaboone #7A at Bridgeport Speedway11/26/22: The racing community is saddened by the passing of Chic Cossaboone, one of the sports all time most popular drivers, pictured above in modified action in the late 70's at East Windsor Speedway (top photo), and also at the Bridgeport Speedway during the early 80's (bottom photo.)
Chic was one of those drivers that could always be counted on to be near the front when the checkered flag was waving. He won many features at Bridgeport Speedway where he also won multiple championships, as well as winning many feature events at the East Windsor Speedway.
We are very sorry to hear of Chic's passing. My sincere condolences go out to the many fans, friends, and to the Cossaboone Family.
