from Russ: This is a Walter Chernokal photo taken at Alcyon on July 23,
1954. Not quite a Hoosier Tire! He was on his way to a victory in the 3 heat when
the tire let go. His brother Bill raced at Alcyon also. Quill lost his life in the crash of a small airplane. |
