Comment: Looking as relaxed as can be, that's the all time
favorite Al Tasnady, taking a seat on the nerf bar of what we think was the
last car that Al raced. If we've got it figured out correctly
(comments and/or corrections welcome!) Al briefly ran this car as a green
#24, and at some point, the car was repainted white with the new #39,
painted similarly to the the way it appeared in the glory days when Al was
behind the wheel of the Piscopo #39. It may have been a nice way of remembering the winning years of the previous decade, but even with the familiar color and #, the results were not there and Al would soon choose to retire from the sport as a driver, and keeping his to his word, would never returned behind the wheel. So much accomplished... So many fans.... Although in a different capacity that that as a driver, many of us were happy to see Al stay involved in the sport as a very respected Flemington official.... How many folks became lifetime fans of the sport because of this one man.... Probably quite a few of you reading this, and many who have come before.... |
