Craig frequently put his engine size as a decimal of cubic FEET. If you treat the complete number as a decimal value, you come up with 475 c.i.  My eye is not so good to recognize a BB Chevy but maybe that’s the case here.

 The 301 is from 301 North Grove Street, Somerville, NJ where he lived when he built his first car. Earlier pic in the vault of his boys in front of the first one.
