I was present for Baker’s first Reading win. Can’t say I was real happy because he beat one of my long time favorites, Harry Moore (007) for the win. I think he was in the Kennedy/Machemer 56. I happened to be home from college that weekend. I usually went to Middletown or Nazareth back then because I was closer to them (East Stroudsburg). It actually happened to be the last race I would attend together with my Dad. He passed away a few years later but our schedules (mostly me) didn’t allow us to go together again. |
