Comments: Comment:  Here's Ken Edsell with his #99 sedan.  The story is that it's a car that was built for Wall, but Ken ran it at Flemington, East Windsor and at Bridgeport.  Ken says he was more of a "chaser" than a "racer" but as you guys know here in The Vault, it wouldn't of been a show without all of the guys that did what they had to do to get out there.  After his driving days were over, Ken was a crew member on Bob Toreky's #14's and later, would go on to vintage car building, and built the car that is still on the vintage circuit as the Doc Morrow red and black coupe.

Ken was always interested in racecars and it must run in the family because Ken's Uncle is noted photographer Charles Zulla, who was the photographer for Roosevelt, Weissglass, Morristown and other speedways back in the mid 50's.

Ken's also quite a character to hang around with, always many laughs with Ken. He also has a superb model collection.  If life's got ya down, just call Kenny and he'll cheer ya right up.

06.03.26 Russ Currie The picture looks more like the pits at Flemington.  Do not recall the building in the background at Naz
05.01.26 Richard Bull He was my brother in law in the earley 70's. Went to east windsor every friday night. Rode in a f-250 pick up with Bob Toreky towing a flat car trailer with the # 14 sedan. I helped re-build that car over after the first year he had it. I would sleep at my sisters after the races and go back to Bob Torekys  Phillips  66 gas station on whitehead ave. in South River on saturday and pump gas all day for $5.00. I was only 12 years old.  learned alot about cars and got to see racing how it once was. Going to Pennsylvania in the freezing cold to find an old coupe or sedan for the body. Making bumpers with a torch and a pipe bender. Stock frame back then. Speed shop frames were still a couple of years away. Good memories.
