| 04/01/07 | Jim Brewer | I thought that I could do a little research on the #7 car but came up with
nothing conclusive - - Eddie Dee drove for the B.E.L Body Shop in the #711. Since B.E.L.
was in Pottsville and apparently sponsored both cars (#7 and #711) I gotta say they were
both driven by Eddie - - I don't think they were team cars - - just evolutions of the same
team. I think that Fran Purcell in the #707 was also sponsored by B.E.L. - - Actually
Eddie was probably more of a regular at Grandview - - the car was always a small block on
one carb - - never a full-blown modified. I remember seeing him at Reading a couple of
times but not every Friday. Anyway - - I think the #7 is Eddie Dee. He was an occasional performer at Reading much like Charlie Gilmore and Pappy Mutter but all three were regulars at Grandview. |
