Comment from Russ: This August, 1957, taken at Alcyon
Speedway, shows the 37 of Ken VanBuren being passed on the inside by Jackie
McLaughlin in the Jordan 2. Note the driver and exhaust pipe location on the
1937 Ford sedan. This car was racing 6 years before the famous "Gypsy 707"
was driven by Al Tasnady in 1963! On page 1 in the 50's photo section in the
Vault, you will see this same car when it was first fielded as a coupe in
1956. NASCAR rules would prohibit the coupe from competing, so Ken replaced
the shortened coupe body with the 1937 Ford sedan, place in its normal
mounting position. Coincidentally, this sedan was Lincoln powered like the
