| Comments: | Comments provided by Russ: This picture was taken in the Williams Auto Parts Garage in the winter of 1957 by William Curley. 1957 NASCAR Modified Champion Ken Marriott, is shown working on his new car being built for the Daytona Beach race in February, 1958. While some of the bracing was removed from the body, many of the original parts were used. The original dash was left with the glove compartment door brazed shut. Notice the heat marks on the black iron pipe forming the bends. Ken Marriott, Al Tasnady, Ralph Smith and Steve Elias won many feature events in the famous # 44's that ran out of this Vineland, N.J. garage. Thanks, Russ Dodge |
