Comments: | Neat picture featuring the Laffin Sales Pace Car. Laffin is located on the left side just before the bridge from South River to Sayreville. |

12/18/06 | Kevin Mc | Their motto was "stop cryin' try Laffin". Heard that from a friend who lived there. |
12/18/06 | George Perkins | The year would have to be 1962. That's a 62 Oldsmobile and it says the races were on Sunday starting at 2:30. I'm sure they were nightime races from 63' on. |
12/20/06 | A fan | Just wondering if the pace car is parked in front of Cook's Sunoco on Rte'
18, I'm told that at one time it was like a hub for local racers. Back in the seventies I worked for the engineering company that layed out the new housing on the Old Bridge Speedway site. Just for the hell of it I did a lap around the track so I could say I drove there. Only "racing" I ever did. This is a great site, keep up the excellent work. |
12/20/06 | 3Wide | I know there was a Cook's Sunoco on the northbound side of Rt 18, right across from Loehman's Plaza, but I'm not sure if that's where this was taken. |
