Comments: | The darkness of the above photo didn't stop a bunch of you from guessing the mystery car and driver pictured above during our 12/01/04 Trivia Challenge. Whether it was the little piece of the Tom Backes lettered #39 that appears on the roof, or the bright white racing attire, or maybe even the big red headrest, many new that this was Al Tasnady inside the Piscopo owned "Polecat" #39 from Morrisville, PA. |

12/28/04 | John Stover | Two details caught my attention-driver suit and mirror. Tas almost never
wore a suit on a regular basis until he began drivingtheCozze 44 in 1969. The rather large
mirror tells another story. I dont believe Al used a mirror at Reading or
Flemington.Nazareth half-mile and Nazareth National tracks did allow theuse of mirrors if memory serves me correct. I would guess thatthis may be an extra distance race at Nazareth half -mile, Nazareth National , or maybe Eastern States 200 at OCFS. Thanks, John Stover |
