Comment from Larry Jendras Jr: One of my favorite
racing series was MODCAR, a traveling modified racing series. This group was
a great chance for fans to see the Modifieds at some tracks where they did
not normally race such as Williams Grove, Lincoln, Grandview, Big Diamond
and Dorsey. They also assembled great field of cars at Penn National, U.S.
13, Flemington, Georgetown and other weekly Big Block Modified Tracks. What I liked is it mixed some guys together who might not race together till year end specials. Check out the Point Standings from 1981 and read Bob Eckert's story on MODCAR progress to see what I mean. Long live drag tires and injectors! |
