Comments: A very young Warren Alston gives Darryl the one to go sign here in this great shot provided by Kevin Mc that shows clearly that some people DO know what they want to be when they grow up!   Warren is now one of the most repected flaggers of the sport and has recently been working with the Nascar Featherlite Touring Series.  I think I saw him a few weeks back at Wall Stadium braving the elements, keeping everybody in line...

12/14/03 Chris Grbac I remember when Warrren used to flag go-kart races at the New Egypt Speedway in the mid 80's. Time flies.
12/14/03 Todd L Warren is now a NASCAR Official having just finished his inaugural season as the starter on the Busch North Series
12/17/03 Warren Joe,

The gentleman at the bottom of the photo is my Dad, Alfred Alston.  He would take me to the races all over the area faithfuly.  I owe alot to my father and mother for taking me to the tracks.  I spent 15 years at EWS in the first turn.  I have alot of memories there.

Thanks,

Warren

12/17/03 3-Wide Warren - I thought that was your dad there.   The reason I did was because while you were sitting down there with your monm and dad, I was in the top corner seat, (the last seat in the top row in the first turn - over the Speedway Office) seating next to my dad, watching you do your stuff for all those years.  I get a little choked up when I see this picture because I can hear my dad saying... "That little guy down there's pretty damn good ain't he..."
03/10/04 Bill "44" Hanna I know that this is the start of very talented career as a starter.  However, he had yet to perfect the infamous "Warren Wiggle" when he gives the 2 to go signal.  Hey Warren, how bout' a twinkie....
04/21/04 Jenn That was actually Richie Cass, Sr. in the 747.  He was the 1st driver for my dad in 1984.  Darryl started in 85'
