1962, you could not have traveled north of the Flemington circle past the fairgrounds
without seeing this billboard. For my collection, this photo is worth as much as any
car/race photo I have. Thanks to the foresight and skill of Bob Farlee with his
Nikon reflex camera, memories of this type were recorded. While many photographers
were taking those fabulous shot of the cars and drivers, Bob shot photos of what made up
the racing environment. His Flemington photos include excellent shots of the
grandstand and the pagoda for example. While the pictures had to be reproduced from
35 mm slides the color and overall quality is terrific. Thank you Bob, for sharing
your work. Bob, a real fine gentleman, is the treasurer of the Garden State Vintage
