Comments: | Comment: Looks like Kenny Weld possibly getting ready to go out for time trials at Syracuse. Not sure what the result was of Kenny's 1977 Syracuse run. |

7/4/77 Monday afternoon double show, sprints and mods, 25 laps each (take note of all the short sleeve shirts) kenny weld won the sprints, Gary Balough the mod feature, (weld got 6 th ) Toby Tobias in the background would win the labor day show for his final win there before his untimely death 6/23/78. as to welds performance in SDW 77, the race was postponed due to weather until 4/15/78 and I don't think he returned. I remember being at some other July 4 th Syracuse shows over the years run at night and admission was $20 a car load and the shows were packed. they also ran only 1 memorial day afternoon show and it was won by Johnny Botz in the # 2 pinto. |

Isn’t this the Weld car that had the “slanted” engine? |
