| Comments: | Comment from "Aint": This is the First Weld #29 Modified. This is from Super Dirt Week III, Syracuse Fairgrounds, 1974. IIRC, Weld had problems on the first day of qualifying, which I'm told were resolved following a short conversation with Joe Lawrence, who was fielding his Hilborn-injected #16 car for driver Jan Opperman that weekend. I believe that Weld set fast time on day two of time trials, eclipsing the pole time set by Billy Osmun in the Statewide #3 on the first day of qualifying. Hertica Photo. I have the original print. |
