Comments: | Comment: Kenny Weld in the the #29 at Reading. Kenny is wearing a full face helmet in this shot, so we're confident that this car was how the car was painted after the original lighter blue version where the #'s were bigger (touched each other). Also, the original nosepiece is gone and has been replaced with a piece flatter piece that would end up being more of the norm for cars all of the Weld Modifieds built/raced beyond this point. |

11.26.14 | Rick Shive | Weikert #29, driven by Kenny Weld in '74. Car started '75 season as Weikert #29, sold to Weld, renumberd #91. Later in season sold to Statewide, renumbered #3. Car won with all 3 numbers in '75, Weld in all of them, Billy Osmun also won in #3. Driven as Statewide #3 in '76 by Gary Balough and Jimmy Horton. Later sold to Fast Lane Racing, driven as #2 by Billy Osmun, Kevin Collins and Jeff Hoetzler. Sold to Hoetzler who ran it for many years as #J17, including one season with a '37 Chevy coupe body. Currently in DIRT museum as Weikert #29. |

As noted elsewhere in 3Wide, Ed Delmolino was also among the various drivers that piloted the Fast Company 2. In the opening weeks of that season the Henry Bahre Weld 24 that Ed had been in since ‘76 wasn’t ready. Not sure who reached out to who but we went down to OCFS to watch. The car was not very competitive that night, Delmolino was disappointed, and opted to wait on Bahre’s car instead. |
