Comments: "After 40 years she's back home...."  Those are the words of Tammy Taylor Roberts (pictured above with her brother Sherwood Taylor) whose grandfather, George Taylor Sr. built the #93 above which was driven by Dick Havens in the late 60's.  The car was campaigned at East Windsor, Flemington and even at Langhorne Speedway.  The car above was eventually replaced by a newer model that sported a 1937 Chevy Coupe body for possibly the 1970 season....

At that point, I'm pretty sure that the car above was then sold and then driven on the sportsman circuit as a #11 by Lee McBride at East Windsor, and then as yellow a #11b by Joe Meshach.   Here's a link to the car as a sportsman: https://3widespicturevault.com/70spics&vitals/a11.21.04_11B_MES_MID_0070_1.htm

The next time I saw the car was about 35 years later... at the Reading Fair (2005?) at which point it was owned by Ted Brooks.  The car was restored and Ted did a great job to get the car back out where it could be seen.  Ted also displayed the car at the Phillipsburg Mall Show and at other venues.  Sadly, Ted passed away in 2011.

Prior to his passing, Ted had made it known that his wish was to have the car returned to the Taylor family...  Tammy and Sherwood...  so that the car could go full circle, back to where it all started.  After Ted's passing, Ted's wife contacted Tammy and Sherwood who were touched by the kindness of Ted's offering... and as Ted had wished, the #93 is back home....

03.31.11 Jerry Wildrick Hey everyone! After Lee McBride, the car was sold to Bob Meshach (circle 7 fame in the 60's) Joe is his son and stops by the Vault often. The 11b last ran @ Middletown in the mid 70's as a modified with a fuel injected big block. That was some motor, but the car was very dated.
05.31.12 Joe Meshach It's cool seeing this car again. Lots of memories!
