Comment from Matt: Winter '73/'74 Carmen and Danny Smith
built the car with the Pinto body from a Tobias kit for Ralph Linaberry and
his family. Danny drove it for a bit then Carmen took over during the '74
season. Over the winter '74/'75 he put the Mustang body on it, and drove it
at Flemington & some Naz shows in '75. It was painted white & Barry Suydam
drove it after Carmen. There is one pic with photographer George Gordan sitting in the drivers seat. He took the B&W photos. The other pic has Danny Smith standing next to a young Carmen. The color photos of the Pinto were taken by Carmen |

Pic 5, chassis appears to be updated from Pic 4. RR shock is now mounted higher to a square piece of tubing, and extra strutts are welded to nearer the top of rear roll bar. The drag link stearing off of the right front spindle is depicted in both versions. I always admired the guys who would try something different! |
