Fithian, longtime friend and mechanic's name is on the side of the hood as
the engine builder. In the bottom picture it looks to me like "Pop" Franz sitting on the back of a flatbed. Frank may have been the sole driver although I do remember Dave Stanton turning the wheel for Franz's Racing in a 28 also. As a matter of fact my cousin Dave Gifford had been known to take a shot at the wheel, hot laps, heat race???...... |
