Check out the detail on Brett Hearn's #3 built by Vault Contributor Rich Scott!

*Note from Rich Scott:

Seeing all the great stuff Scott Pacich has been doing of late got my interest going again so I decided to build a current car.   I always wanted to see how one would turn out if I put a real effort into it. So the end result is Brett Hearn's #3.

80%, if not more of the car is scratch built. Only the tires, rims, engine, rear, seat & steering wheel are from model kits. The frame, body, bumpers and alot of the suspension pieces are all hand made. The car is hand painted. The frame is made from the trees that the model parts are molded with.   The body is made from the cardboard from the box. It's the way I made them 25 years ago, so I gave may old way another try.

This took me nearly 1 1/2 years to make, mainly due to not having the time to spend on it. That said, I can't even think of the amount of time put into this, but in the end it was all worth it.

Note from 3-Wide:  Rich, I'm sure I speak for the many others who are visiting this page that it was definitely worth it!  Thanks for sharing this great "SuperModel" with us Rich!
