This is when "Late Models" were still late models, and Jim
"Pappy" Wollman was one of the first to take this new division to the level that
made it a very welcomed addition to the evening's events. |

Jim Wollman was not only a great race car driver he was a great boss and a
good friend. He helped me build my first street stock. I have many good
memories. He was like a father figure to me. It is good to see you and Donna
on this great website. Miss ya.....Barry Pursell |

What a great memory in the late model ranks. Awesome car and a very clean
and fast driver. During this time period there was a driver name "Jersey" John
Hisko. He ran a camaro late model #955. His son (Billy) and I think his nephew (Glenn)
followed in his footsteps- At least I think it is his nephew. I wonder if anyone has a
picture of that car. |

I was at the race where that picture was taken at Nazareth. The large
plexigass spoiler on the back was only used at that race... it was made by my dad Stan
Frey (AKA Tiny or Slim)... also on the front of the car is a rubber belt we used to keep
the front on the ground... car had a big block in it for that race.... Bill Ricker
is in the background. |

Are you referring to the picture on this page? The info provided
with it said it was taken at Flemington, but the clay does look a little too orange...
Let us know and we'll make the correction if needed - Thanks, |

If I could ad my comment: #1 jim always raced this hot rod at
Flemington #2 the picture is an ace lane classic, but there is no purple dressed staff in
victory lane. This looks like Nazareth to me. I remember Stan's dad slim. But
no matter what if you knew Jim the picture says it all. What at a great smile .
Truly a great person to know. |
