Comment: Beautiful King car of Len Zito, complete with knock
off front wheels. (Speaking of knock off's, other than saving time
during a pit stop, is there any advantage to them? They look cool, but
I think a disadvantage would be having only one big nut holding the wheel on
rather than 6 smaller ones.) The front bumper looks different than others that I have seen on King cars. This one has is quite a bit taller, and has some additional reinforcement. I was told by Ken Brenn Jr that the original King cars, as built by Grant, only had a single hoop bar as a front bumper, just like found on sprint cars of the day.... (Think about it, that was what Grant was used to building, and he probably didn't account for modifieds bumping into each other as often as they tend to do!) |
