My father and I spoke to Maynard about a year before he passed at the Valley one night. We had a nice talk about the King cars. Unfortunately he had no idea where his two ended up after he sold them. For the King enthusiasts out there note that this car like many after the first few were able to be run as either torsion (the rack is empty in front of nose) or coil front suspension. Also note that most if not all had two radius rods on left front after the first few. I do believe that Maynard had success with his Kings. They always looked well prepared when they got to the track. |
