08/13/04 John Mc This may have been the car that had a real nice coupe body on it, then was determined to be too low by Flemington officials. It had a vinyl top and was painted neatly, but they said it was about a 1/2" low(I believe), so in protest he took the coupe off and put this ratty looking sedan body on it. This shot is from Naz Nat'l.
01/10/05 Tom Tinsman I need some help here. Does anyone remember when Will showed up at Nazareth with two brand new sedans.  I'm pretty sure it was in the late 60's.

They were both a little unusual. They had a spoiler inside the back section of the car, and they raised a lot of controversy. I don't think they worked out because the rear window was to small and it actually caught the air and slowed the cars down. The next weekend he showed up with both cars and the back sections were cut open to allow the air to flow through. I think Will was ahead of his time. We called him "Sneaky Sneakers".   I used to get a kick out him wearing those sneakers when he drove.

01/10/04 3-Wide Interesting comment Tom.  From what I hear, the hot setup now is to catch just enough air back there that it really plants the rear.  Of course, you really don't want that much planting if you've got some really long straights.  From what I hear, they try to get the air to run up inside and then catch "some" of it with the spoiler.
09/11/08 fltlnjok Joke about the sneakers, but they were worn because they were sturdy, tight on the foot when tied all the way up and thin enough on the soles (even when new) so that the drivers had a feel for the pedals and the car. What are the new racing shoes but VERY expensive modified sneakers.
10/07/08 3-Wide ...That hopefully don't melt as quick!
