07/17/04 Tom Bilger One of my greatest joys in life was to watch Otto wheel Sonny Dornberger's #999 around Alcyon Speedway in Pitman, New Jersey.
08/24/04 Jim Murrow Otto Harwi started out as a flat track motorcycle racer, (raced on dirt oval tracks), so the transition to modifieds was fairly easy for him.  He was a daredevil type driver, like McLaughlin and Tasnady, and so, a thrill to watch.

Oddly enough, after Jackie McLaughlin left the famous Case Tractor painted #300 car, Otto drove it for a while, and then Otto was killed a few months after McLaughlin, in 1964. Two greats gone in a few months.

09/28/04 Ralph J. Richards, Jr. Otto Harwi was killed at Orange County Fairgrounds, NY on May 16, 1964 and Jackie died on August 23, 1964 at Nazareth Speedway, PA. So jack died 3 months after Otto.
