This car was later owned and raced by Franklin "Pappy" Fraley of South Belmar, NJ. He raced it in the mid-60s at Wall Stadium in the Novice division. He lived next to my grandfather. I believe he told me it was a '41 Ford with a '58 Mercury flathead mill. It could be a '46 as they are almost identical. In July of 1964 I saw this car race at Wall. A car bounced off the number one turn and crashed into the right rear quarter panel of this car. He had it for a few more years. Then I'm not sure what became of it. |
