New Egypt Speedway "Off Track" Photos
"Friends of Mike Night"

Brought to you this week by:

The sail panel on the side of the #77 driven by Keith Hoffman says it all...

Event organizer and Speedway General Manager Danny Serrano talks with Danny Johnson and Mark Forte prior to the cars taking to the tracks.

The "Friend's of Mike" event is named after Mike Rogie, a long time fan of short track racing, who passed away 3 years ago from cancer. .

Friends of Mike Night is many different things...  Here' driver George Idell takes a seat in the dunk tank after track owner Bill Miscoski (background) got "dunked" a few times...

SS Sprint driver Rob Pfister handles the lead vocals for "Johnny Newcomb and the Memphis Three".

Track Photographer Jim Brown had his eyes on this autographed Frank Cozze #44 nose piece that was offered for auction by Mrs. Cozze.

"Burger or Dog?"...  Former Sportsman competitor Dave Bailey helped out on the grill in support of "Friends of Mike"  Thanks for the burger Dave - Good stuff!

Brian Truppi in the TK High Performance #09 modified made a rare visit to New Egypt to support the "Friends of Mike" night, and took to the track very quickly...

Kenny Huchko sports sail panels and a snazzy "SJDR" Sticker on this sharp looking modified.

"Beauty in The Beast..."  Linda warms up the engine in the Robertson #85 modified....

Gene - Gene's Racin' Machine...

Bobby Drayton is all business as he heads out for modified warmups...

Frank Cozze has been flyin' in the Michael Brother's #51M modified.

David Van Horn was on hand with a very familiar # and color combo....

Brett Hearn's #20 was modestly dressed...  Great to see Brett at New Egypt for Friends of Mike Night.

Billy finds some shade prior to heat race action..  He's been on one heck of a hot streak lately.  (Some might argue that he's been on a hot streak for 33 years!)

Billy's car owner Kevin Bifulco (K&A Excavating in South Brunswick, NJ) was also doing his own driving duties in his #19 Outlaw Stock.

Cream Ridge NJ's P.J. Oliver heads out for Outlaw Stock heat race action.

Spider Ensigner gets a little help from his friends... That's fellow Outlaw Stock driver Brian Ludwig checking out the damage on the #49 Monte Carlo.

It's always good to see Jack Swain's #42 back at New Egypt Speedway....

Jack currently stands 2nd in points at Bridgeport, but as he put it, "It's a great thing they've got going on here for Friends of Mike, so I wanted to be here..."

'Don't know how often Kenny Brightbill has driven a Ford powered racecar in his career, but he's in one now with the C&S Equipment #6B!

It doesn't get any tougher than running the modified division at NES, and hard charging rookie Chris Allen and team are getting closer & closer to getting the #71 dialed in.

Former Super Stock driver, now sportsman runner Bill Liedka was behind the controls on George Idell's #3i when.... OUCH!

Bill and car owner George (right) still manage a smile....  Even the birdcages were broken from the crash!

Great looking, new Monte Carlo Outlaw Stock of Don Shipley.  Great to see new additions to the division are keeping this a stock class.

Here's another Monte, with very talented Artist "Kenny" from Phenomenon Designs in Howell, NJ featured on the trunk lid.

...work goes on under the hood of the Tom Carberry modified.

...Wonder if this would be ok for the H.O.V. lane on the NJ Turnpike?

The fans really turned out for "Friends of Mike Night"...

... and Elvis WAS in the building!  That's Vault Favorite Fritz Epright in the blue shirt.

Fans gather round as the Chinese Auction is about to begin...

Wouldn't be a Chinese Auction without all those Chinese take out cartons to put the tickets in!  Jim Brown reads off the #'s as the winners claim their prizes.

The crowd stands for the Invocation and National Anthem, but before it is given...

... Speedway owner Bill Miscoski provides a "State of the State" and thanks the crowd for supporting the track.  Bill also provided an update on SS Sprint/Sportsman driver John Romano and reminded all in attendance that with the power of prayer, the racing family has seen miracles happen.... We're all thinking about our friend.

Fans remembering those we've lost... and honoring them by putting up big money for those who put on the show...  That's what "Friends of Mike" is all about.

P.J. Oliver gets a big hug in the pits after winning the Outlaw Stock feature in grand style by getting by the best in the business (Cadillac Pat Conaway) with 2 to go...

That's one BIG Trophy P.J.... and that check 'aint bad either!
