New Egypt Speedway "Off Track" Photos
August 9th 2008

After a 3 year layoff, Shawn McCaughey brought out the "Ah Dyn O Mite" #301 & finished 3rd in the Super Stock Feature!

Rich Scagliotta heads off for heat race action...

...as does Marc Herman

Here's last week's modified feature winner Tom Carberry coming in after warmups.

Cool Head Gear!

Ray Woodall's been running great this year, looking great with this custom painted helmet from Korek Designs.
Check them out at:    www.KorekDesigns.com - 570-966-3100 - Cool Stuff.

Great sportsmanship by Andy Visinski as he offered to let Ray Woodall drive his car in the consi after Ray had problems in his heat race.  Ray was very competitive in the #214 and had it in a qualified spot until a late race caution/restart had him finishing 1 position out...

Lee Allen puts the tune on the B&B Auto Wreckers #97.

Damn it's so good to see cars that really look like cars!  Plymouth Duster Outlaw Stock with rain gutters and chrome bumpers!

McLaughlin Motorsports takes a look under the hood of one of the 2 team cars..

Click Here to "hear" what other Outlaw Stock drivers are thinking when Outlaw Stock driver Rich Mongeau is near....

Speaking of being scared...  How would you like to see this in your rear-view?

Actually, it's another "Rumblin, Stumblin Monte" out of the Team Ludwig stable...  Another really cool car racecar!

With mallet and spray guy, those guys at Dennis and Don's (Rt. 130 - North Brunswick) can fix anything...

Sportsman driver Joe Systo had a tough night... (see below)

The right front was held on by a brake line...  Good to see Joe above in good shape after a hard hit.

You've seen many great photos in The Vault from "Bob Yurko".  Well, here's a photo of Bob!

Haven't heard any complaints in the last 2 decades about women in the pits...  Remember those days?  (Didn't think so!)

Taking care of a little overheating on the #01 of Dan Wassempacker

"Johnny Mac" doing a little work between races on his #44 Sportsman

John Keller heads out for heat race action.   Rough night for John as later he would be involved in a multi-car accident in the feature, with John getting checked out at the hospital.  We're thinking about you John and "Team 54X".

For anybody who's been paying attention, Mike Hendershot is the real deal in 2008 at New Egypt!

Any guesses?  He's in the top 10 in Modified points, very popular with the fans, and is way overdue for a feature win in 2008...

Brian Godown and Crew Chief Chuck, who's worked with some of the top modified teams for the last 25 years.

Thanks Tommy Kosch for displaying 2 World Formula Modifieds in the picnic area.  Fans loved them!

Vern McLaughlin took the lead on the last turn of the last lap and made it win #2 in 2008 at New Egypt

Vern talks with teammate Rich Smith who was running 2nd most of the race and got a little loose in turn 2 with just a few to go.

Billy Bauer battled Kory Fleming lap after lap, and then fought back a fast running Todd Cray for another win!

While leading the SS Sprint main, Lee Taylor got up and over a wheel of a lapped car.. Lee was ok.  Car wasn't.

Mark Bitner took the win in the SS Sprint feature in the Brian Nixon #202.

Willie Osmun & crew in victory lane, all wearing their matching blue team shirts that go very well with "black and white!"

Billy Pauch pulls away from under caution after being involved in a wreck that included Fleming, Keller, Tanner, Hoffman, Laubach, Buffalino and others....  Billy was able to join from the rear and work his way back up to challenge for the win before it was over.

In one of the best features to date, Ken Meisner stayed perfect lap after lap to beat the best in the business.

Ken gets a little New Egypt Champagne from crew member in victory lane.

...While all the celebrating was going on, a crew member noticed this strange bulge on the right rear tire on the winning car #4.  While it was still holding air, you gotta wonder how many more laps it had in it...

Congratulations Ken... (You got a couple more to go to catch the guy below, but last night was a great start!)

Phil Meisner (Ken's dad) in victory lane at Flemington Speedway in the Larry Marval owned #17 from a few years back...
