New Egypt Speedway "Off Track" Photos
August 14th, 2010

Brought to you this week by:

Plenty of moisture in the track in the early going meant plenty of clay removal for crew members - here on J.T. Trstensky's #2.

I miss my coupes, sedans and Gremlins... but Rick Laubach's #20 is one cool looking ride...

How does sportsman driver Alan Bleacher celebrate his heat race win?....  He gets out of the car, grabs a bucket and starts washing the #47a...

Great to see Richie Cass, in his 4th decade of racing still running up front... this time in the Saxton Motorsports #23X.

"I'll tell you what"...  That's short track on air personality Bill Sasser, who now joins the announcing team of Nick Leach and Pete Wortman.  Welcome to NES Bill!

"EverReady" Everett  Taylor gets "ready" for B Main action...

Tommy Carberry Jr. checks for engine problems on the #28 Modified

Strong running Sportsman Kyle Borrer pulls into his pits...

"You lookin' at me?".....  YUP.  Great to see Randy Laird back behind the wheel of what else... a #57!

First floor of the pits finds a few sportsman teams "teaming" up...

"There's No Need To Fear......."

Work is never done in the pits on the Ling Trucking, K&A Excavating #1...

(Yup... See, I did take your picture Artie!)

21L, 29, X6 and #20...

Huge hit during heat race action for Mike Barone in the #267...

Glad to see Mike able to exit the car under his own power, but the #267 took one heck of a shot...

Joe Systo makes his way back out to the track.

"Billy Wroble's #23W gets a drive thru "Nose Job"... as crew members thrash to get him back out before they go back to green.

John Carpenter is joined by representatives of "AGIN Signs & Designs.... located on Rt. 1 South (near Sand Hill) in Monmouth Junction, NJ).

John and Uncle Jeff Carpenter of "Jet Fabrications" have become a dominant force in the Outlaw Stock class...

Race Director John McCaughey and "Clerk of the Course" Doug brief the Powder Puff driver's prior to their events.

First Sportsman Feature event win for former Super Stock competitor George Quinlan.

Here's George with family and friends.

"Quinlan University" in victory lane...

...and as for the Modifieds... Here Billy Pauch victoriously climbs from his #1 after passing Ron Jon Kozcon with less than 5 to go...

... and instead of reaching for a smoke...  Billy reaches for a stick of gum...

No more smokes for The Kid...  Pauch Fans agree - congratulations on your win, and on trading in the pack of smokes for a pack of gum!

Good sport Ron Jon Koczon (who finished second to Billy on this night) was quick to greet Billy in victory lane and offer his congratulations.

Billy gives this lucky fan quite a souvenier... his trophy!

Here's the crew of the Ling Trucking/K&A Excavating #1A...

Billy and car owner Kevin Bifulco of K&A Excavating (South Brunswick, NJ).

Billy signs a few autographs

Here's Billy with daughter Mandi who is all suited up for the nightcap Powder Puff events.

These Pauch fans get to the track each week around noon... and tailgate till 6pm,  then end the night exactly where they'd hope to with their favorite driver, in victory lane.

You're never too young to be a Pauch fan....

Another successful night for the #1 Team as Billy backs out of victory lane.

After finishing 6th in the 305 Sprint Feature at BRIDGEPORT earlier in the night... Stefanie Palmai drove straight up to New Egypt to run the Powder Puff event...

... Stefanie took the win in the "Ringer's Race" which was a special event for those who had previous professional racing experience...

First time ever in a modified, Stef made her way from the back, passing fast running Laura Liedl in the #44 for the lead, and then was smooth and fast the rest of the way.  That's Modified Driver Tom Carberry Sr. posing with Stef next to the #23.

First Champ Karts... Then Micros... Currently running 305 Sprints... 18 year old Stef is the real deal behind the wheel... No doubt.

Karen Van Horn was impressive winning the modified event in the #71e.

Jenn won the Sportsman Powder Puff event in the #94M.

Heidi took the win in the Outlaw Powder Puff event driving Kevin Bifulco's #19.

Going Up?

...and on our way out, we couldn't help notice there was still a huge crowd around the Koczon's pit as good sport Ron Jon was still signing autographs...

Another great night at the speedway... Come out and be part of the action.
