New Egypt Speedway "Off Track" Photos
May 22nd, 2010 - LAST WEEK
Brought to you this week by:

The guys from The Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club (GSVSCC) were there early to set up their cars in the picnic area so people could stop by and check them out throughout the night.  Thanks Bob Nase #3 (help... need the name for the owner of the Racz #41), and John Malsbury #M-3.)

Wayne Weaver had his #17 on display early in the evening before taking to the track a little later on.

Jarrett Rozycki and "crew" celebrate Rookie Feature Win number "two."

...help'in out with the flag...

Keith Hoffman #77 puts on the belts prior to his heat race

Bob Drayton gets ready to climb into the #09 Modified

Darin Henderson and crew make a few adjustments under the back of the #22 FASTRAK Late Model...  (There aint a whole lot under the back of these things!)

Rich Caramella #301 and Tom Partite #44 get ready for track time

Doug Dubeil's #52 Vintage Car

Stan Hawk with his vintage "MODIFIED"

Here's Stan's #17 from the other side

We're told this one, owned by John Desmelyk, is an original Fritz Epright ride...

Message to "Goop" on the back of the #49

Crate Sportsman driver John Micek

Rich Steele drives the "Double Nickel"... (for the young'ns out there, that's an old CB term referring to the federally mandated 55mph speed limit in the 70's...)

Kettle Cooked Chips... Cool Ranch Doritos... Lays Potato chips...  That's how you keep the crew members happy in the Speedstr Pit.

Doug Sherwood gets ready for Speedstr heat #1 (which he won).

Brian Kuhl (front of car) tries to persuade the door of his #37 Crate Sportsman back into shape using a mallet....

... and when that didn't work to his liking he opted for this method....  (Must have worked as Brian would end up later with a strong finish in the Crate Feature.)

Modified driver Dom Buffalino heads out in the #2B....

...and since Dom's Uncle's Jess and Tony own the Rayco on Rt. 18 in East Brunswick, NJ, this is an opportunity for me to thank them for being the "pit crew" for my mom's Intrepid for the last few years!  If you need car repair, you won't find more honest, race friendly guys than at Rayco in East Brunswick.  Call them at 732-257-9000.

Cozze Sr (#44) and Cozze Jr (#44C) bring their modifieds back in after battling side by side in heat #1.

Young modified driver's like Frank Cozze Jr., John Guarino, Mike Barone, Cory Anderson, etc, are keeping the more "seasoned" modified driver's up on the wheel!

The very fast Johnny Guarino has a little time between his heat race and the feature to make a few changes on his modified #9.

The stands went silent as Mike McAleer #6 took a wicked flip down the entire backstretch.  Mike would be checked out at the hospital and later released, but it was a bad one...  We hope Mike will be back soon as he's really been getting around in the C&S Equipment #6.

Cream Ridge NJ's P.J. Oliver is all business prior to heading out in his FASTRAK Late Model.

Mick Search gets ready to do some educatin'....

... See what we mean?...  Here's "The Educator" Mick Search in victory lane after winning the FASTRAK Late Model Feature

Mick is joined in Victory Lane with teammate P.J. Oliver (who finishing 2nd) and the Oliver Communications Crew.

The great group from night sponsor Roma Bank helps out with the trophy presentation.

Bobby Dmuchowski with his "family familiar yellow" colored race car...

(Here's Freddy Dmuchowski (Bob's dad) in action in the mid 70's at Flemington Speedway - Photo by: Ace Lane Jr.)

Fan's display their posters along the frontstretch during intermission

David Van Horn hopped in the Truppi #02 for the night, allowing the team to "compare set up notes"...  The #02 has been very fast at times this year...

Billy Pauch and Frank Cozze Jr chat prior to the modified feature

Vintage cars head out for their second on track session for the night.

Jim Houseworth gets interviewed in victory lane after winning his first Crate Sportsman Feature at New Egypt.

Here's Jim with family and crew

Proud moment for the Houseworth Family!

It was only a matter of time before we knew that Jimmy would be stopping over to see us in victory lane....

Here Jimmy is joined by the crew from night sponsor "Roma Bank" after winning the modified feature.

It's good to see Jimmy smiling...

Top 3 modifieds (Horton #14, Hoffman #77 and Pauch #1) line up in tech...

...after finishing 3rd, Billy puts on the heat gloves and begins pulling plugs on the #1

With the rain falling, Toby  poses for a quick victory lane photo.

Rich is joined by 2nd place finisher Mario Page (left) and 3rd place finisher Rick Schaffer (right).

Toby shows us how "us old guys get in and out of these things" (his words not mine...lol!)
