02/24/05 | Don W | If my memory serves me correctly, i believe the photos from Wall were taken by Travers Cambra in the 80's and Stan Reed in the 70's. |
02/24/05 | 3-Wide | If anyone knows for sure, please let me know specifically so that we can give proper photographer credit. Thanks - |
02/24/05 | Jerry H | Isn't that Jim Hoffman who drove this car in the early 80s? (#42, Martinsville and Wall) |
02/24/05 | Jerry H | 20th pic in/J. Lavance - believe that is Sonny McCurdy at New Egypt in his new homebuilt car. He flipped shortly afterward going for a heat win -he won on his roof! |
02/26/05 | Billy W | PAGE 4 OF WORTH PICS ITS BLEWETT IN THE X6 -- NO COMERFORD -- JOHN DROVE FOR LING MOST OF THAT SEASON THANKS BILLY W |
03/02/05 | Jerry H | (18th picture) believe this was charlie j/s old vega/sold to my buddy
eddie grandinettti-driven by former modern stock driver john baker #23/car was known as jaws-another charlie j car outlawed by nascar but could run at wall! |
03/26/06 | Bruce Tarby | I remember being at New Egypt that night, I'm going to say in '78. It was one of the Wednesday night Winston Racing Series specials when Richie didn't tow Big Orange down for some reason, but got in Vinnie Green's car and won! He got his NASCAR points too. That car may have been an old Evans car. If you look at the car closely, it looks like the way Evans built the cage, etc. It even says Gene's Machine on the door (Gene B.R. DeWitt who sponsored Evans all those years) |
09/26/06 | Chuck | That is Tommy Commerford in the X6. I have this car in my garage and am restoring it. Have the original dash as seen in this picture. |
12/09/06 | Mrnconway8 | Blewitt is in the #x6. |
03/07/07 | Don W. | Definately John Blewett Jr in x6 photo. Comerford got the ride later. |
09/15/07 | Robert Comerford | That is definitely John Blewett Jr. in the X6 (bottom row) at New Egypt.
Billy Walker is correct. Contrary to Don W this was my father's ride all along. We all thought this car was jinxed from the first race it ran at Martinsville. My father was stuffed in the fence on the backstretch never completing the first lap. |
06.03.10 | El Herbert | The car was owned by Tom Green (Bordentown I think) and on the door it says Green's Macine. Evans drove this car several times at NES 1977 |
