Comment from Michael: Not sure of the year, or photographer, but I own the original. The photo was taken in Daytona, as you can see the track in the background. My dad was with Jack in Daytona and always told me that Jack only ran well on asphalt when they put sand on the track after a crash and he could get going sideways. I've had this picture of Jack in my bedroom for as long as I can remember. When I was little, and even now, I wonder what he was like. I've heard all of the stories not only of his racing career, but his personal life as well, and I just can't begin to imagine how much those who knew him lost, and how much I missed. |
