| 02.13.09 | Tim Weber | The guy who drew the Wall program cover illustrations was
the same gentleman who was the house illustrator for the Asbury Park Press
in the 60s and 70s at least. I remember any time any local athlete did well
they'd get a sketch honoring them in the APP. I specifically remember a
picture of Tommie Elliot and the XL-1 when he was on a hot streak in the
late 60s. The above drawing is, I believe from the early 70s. I hope this helps, will write with any more info if I can get it. |
