Comments: We used this as our trivia question back in April of 2005 and many of you recognized "Jim" from his booming voice as the fellow who sold "ICE CREAM here - Peanuts", along with other items throughout the stands at Flemington.  I remember how loud his opening "ICE CREAM" was, and how it would startle those who did not know that Jim had entered the area.  Not sure, but I think Jim got a kick out of it!

I'm happy to report that Jim's son "Johnny" is still going strong, selling ice cream though the stands at New Egypt Speedway.

09/03/05 Bill Witt That is Jim Williams,  I worked with Jim for 20 Years as a vender starting at Old Bridge Speedway.  Jim started vending at Ebbits Field.  We worked at most tracks in NJm NY, PA, DE in the 50's, 60's and into the 70's.

Jim is in Darlington SC.

12/02/05 Sam Corrice Jim would yell "I scream, you sceam, we all scream for ice cream." Also, "Give your tongue a sleigh-ride."  My personal favorite, when things were slow selling, "Come on you stingy buggers, get your money out."

09/10/06 Fred Voorhees What a booming voice Jim had. He's another of the memories of my early years at Flemington. He was a fixture and really got along well with all fans. In some small way, Jimmie was just another part of the whole Flemington Speedway experience. Hey ice cream here - peanuts!
