In reply to the Nichol family's involvement
with Wall. Jenny's husband built the track which opened in 1951 (?). In the
mid 60's Jenny took over the operations. In the 70's, their son Tucker ran the track
until its sale a few years ago. |

One of the most important for our sport.
She brought a degree of professionalism and good business practice to an otherwise
slip shod sport. Promoters would cheat on purse pay-outs or for that matter slip
away before the end of the show with all the money. Some promoters business
practices were unsound and after only a season or two the track would die of financial
ruin. Mrs. Nicol helped to make weekly modified stock car racing a viable
business and sport. I might also add the Nicols' NEVER missed paying a full purse. |
