Comments: Looks like things were a little crowded in the pits during a little race morning prep on this day at Syracuse (?) back in 1976... and why not...  I mean who wouldn't want to get a glimpse at this powerplant which I'm told powered Tighe to the pole and was supposed to of have about 40k in it!  (I don't know about that, but I do know that Tighe was fast where ever he went whether on a 1/2 mile dirt track, a mile dirt track or big trackin' on the asphalt high banks!

07/12/05 Mike Monnat This photo couldn't have been taken at Syracuse. I don't think they ever allowed injection on Modifieds. By the way. Way too cool doo on Mr. Scott.
07/12/05 3-Wide The info provided by the photographer was that it was Syracuse so we'll wait to see if Paul can give us an update...  The only place I ever got to see Tighe run was at Daytona in a #30 Oldsmobile I think.... and the only thing I know is this aint Daytona... and that aint no Oldmobile!
01/01/06 Joe Meshach I always enjoyed watching "Scotty" and his various cars, always the #28. Mostly I saw him at Nazareth in the 70's. I actually was glad when he returned from his stint in NASCAR to compete again with the Modifieds.
04/12/06 Jan Games Fuel injection was legal at Syracuse until '77 as I recall. 1976 was the year that Tony Ferrioullo had a $7000 timed injector setup built for Gary Balough's winning #73. After that, Donnelly implimented a carburetor only rule. The injectors on Tighe's mod look similar to Gary's.
05/08/06 John Mc This photo of Tighe Scott was definitely taken at Syracuse. Not only was this car fuel injected (on gasoline, not methanol), but it had an aluminum block as well. It was very similar to the engines run in the Can-Am McLarens in the early 70's. I believe these were Crower injectors, the timed fuel injection that was on the Ferraiuolo 73 was made by Kinsler. BTW, Howie Cronce also ran fuel injection at Syracuse that year, but his were the standard Hilborns.
