Comments: Was it possible to go to Wall Stadium in the late 60's and early 70's and not notice Parker in the #659?  (Didn't think so!)   Thanks again to the great camera work of Charlie Taylor for capturing this great shot that says so much about racing at Wall Stadium in the 60's.

01/13/04 Kevin Newman The original INTIMIDATOR!! Great driver and a serious BAD ASS!
04/04/04 Charlie P How could you not know when Parker was on the track?  Don't you remember the massive detonations coming from the single trunk mounted exhaust?  Unburnt methanol, I mean fuel?  Or the burning nose and tearing eyes of the unsuspecting fan who happened to sit in the upper turn 4 stands?   great memories.
01/10/05 Charles Santilli Talk about that exhaust pipe! You never knew what fumes really were until you had to sit inside the race car in Skinner's Garage. Within minutes, you ran outside crying from the fumes.

My best recollection is one winter, when one of our good friends George Houser would come over to Skinner's Garage. We were in the process of rebuilding the 1963 version of the #659.  Each and every time George would come over, he would love to throw his excess chewing tobacco inside the #659's exhaust pipe. After a winter full of used tobacco, spring came along and we completely forgot the tobacco was still in the exhaust, and decided to start the car in the garage. Needless to say, the tobacco went all over Skinner's tool cabinet, and there is most likely still fragments left on it today.
