Comments: | I
think the demolishing crew officially knocked down the Grandstands on Jan 6th, 2006, but
from what I remember, Rick made short work of the starter's stand with this flip along the
frontstretch. I'm hoping you guys can help with the details, but I'm pretty sure
that Harry Dee had to jump to safety because as you can see, there was nothing between him
and the #17A except for a couple of pieces of pipe. Nowdays, Rick can be found at his very successful Auto Repair business located in Hampton, NJ not far off of Route 31. Stop in and say hello and tell him that you saw him in The Vault. The #17A in this picture was the orange #07 that had been previously driven by Wyatt Jacobus. |

This was before I started going to the Flemington, but I do remember one other occasion when Harry Dee had to run for cover. It was when the 404 of Greg Smith took down the starter stand. Fortunately neither person was injured. I don’t remember what year it was, but maybe if somebody reads this it will jog there memory. |
