Comments: Comment from Nick:  This is Al Hewitt and his Nova that he won the 1980 late model
championship with. Al was a crowd pleaser with winning 8 features in
1980 by passing on the outside.

01/01/07 Gary Saeger Was there two Nova's like this that he drove? One might have been Bob Becker's 64.
02/23/07 Wayne Urffer Nick is absolutely right--Al Hewitt could pass on the outside like no other driver I've ever seen. This was Hewitt's second car. His first was an ex Bob Becker Nova. There is a picture of that car that I took in 1979 on page 1 of the Dorney Park section. Incidentally, the #55 in the background is John Best, who was still driving this coach at the Park in 1986.
03/09/07 Brian Also in the background if the memory serves me correctly is Henry Kemmerer, Dale Creyer, and Kenny Hein. As a side note anybody who runs today say that Lonnie Behler is a rough rider.  Kenny was the roughest rider ever. That was on man you didn’t want to upset.
05/21/07 Jason Reitz After Dorney, Al ran dirt modifieds. I think he saw mediocre results at best.
08/23/07 Nick Lloyd Yeah Al went to race dirt at Nazareth from 81 to 83 with one year finishing in the top ten in points and then went on to drag racing at Maple Grove which ended in bad crash. He returned to circle track racing in 87 at Mahoning driving a pink #1 sportsman for Jack Jones.

I am still trying to track down his Nova to restore and the latest info is that he sold it to Jeff Fehr #8, Jeff then sold it to Mike Krempasky #19, and from there I am lost. I was said that a kid named Chris Parry (Tim Parry's kid) had it last and ran it at Mahoning in the late 90's. If anyone can help please contact me at nick.lloyd@hrpusa.com  or my cell 843-503-9155).
Thanks
Nick Lloyd
01.20.09 Henry Schaadt Kenny Hein was known as the "Animal", another king of rough riding was Bobby Bell, who was penalized several times for his "style" :):)
