Comments: | Comment from Wayne: This is a souvenir stand purchase. In 1976, Hirschman's rookie year in the Sportsman cars, he finished tenth in points and won rookie of the year honors. In 1977 and 1978, he won the Sportsman point title. Hirschman's brother-in-law, Rick McNeil, won the Sportsman points in this same car in 1981. I guess it was a good car! |

09/13/06 | Barry | What a good looking Valiant body. 63 or 64 maybe? |
09/13/06 | 3 Wide | Not sure of the specific year but it was definitely after the
"fin" period. I know that the Plymouth had the Valiant and Dodge had the
Dart. I'm wondering if this might have been a 65 (?) Dart? Either way, it's a
beauty. We can all really appreciate the fabrication work that these guys did when comparing the "stockness" to today's bodies. |
05/09/07 | slavecylender1 | It is definitely a 64 Valiant. In fact after Rick McNeil, it surfaced once again as the #44 driven by Mike Schantzenbach I believe in 1984 or 85, and was really close to another championship. Car was truly one of a kind, and I remember Mike telling me, "It was a tank but held the outside great." |

Second best looking valiant of all time, after the Geoff Bodine 99. |
08.13.20 | Earl | The lady in the front row, 4th from the left sure looks like Brenda Hirschman. Anybody know? |
