"The Professional"

One of the first thoughts I have when I remember Budd Olsen was how he customarily dressed  and conducted himself as a race car driver.  This 50's photo of Budd at Wilmington Speedway shows the attire  "better dressed" racers wore in that decade.   The "western" style shirt immediately identified him as a driver.  Later when he switched his focus to stock cars it was a clean pressed white shirt and pants.  Finally, as a car builder the "neat and sanitary" approach was reflected in cars that he built.  Budd treated racing as a professional helping to raise the image of the sport by his conduct and presentation.
