Comments: Comment from Fred:  I don't really remember the particulars, but I certainly do remember this night at Flemington. A car had lost its wheel and tire between turns three and four and the thing completely (and easily) left the speedway right over the turn four Hall of Fame building and into the parking lot. This van was halfway out to Rt.31, but was the only car (I think) to suffer any damage from the jettisoned tire.

03/17/06 Richard Pearson I think I remember this....86ish, I believe the wheel was off a URC sprint car. It was the Sat portion of the Flemington 200 weekend.
03/20/06 Bob Smith Love the Pinto next to the van
03/20/06 3-Wide Is it a Pinto... or a Bobcat!  Either way, hopefully it ended up on a Profile or Tobias chassis somewhere!
3/24/06 Tom The Picture of the van with the back crushed in was two rows off of route 31. The tire flew the distance from the track to the van and fell between the van and the car behind it. The tire was off the #111. Billy Pauch and Archie Myers the 3rd got together in three and carried it out into 4 when Archie hit the outside wall and the tire shot out between the car and the fence. We fixed the car to make it back for the consi that night. .
03/25/06 Richard Pearson Ah, I stand corrected. Thanks for clearing it up. Guess my memory isn't so great anymore :)
06/15/06 KevinMc I was sitting high up in the open stand in T4 that night. saw the tire come off and just shoot like a rocket past the Hall of Fame building & thru the parking lot. One of those deals where the thing seems like it was in slow motion and you're just hoping no one sticks their head out of their car at the wrong time. Even saw it hit the van and the glass just exploded. I had totally forgot about this event.

Im betting it was in fact a URC night. I usually tried to get to Flemington
when the URC was scheduled

...Forgot to mention: It is a Bobcat not a Pinto. Love the Flemington Speedway bumper sticker on it!  Also note the destroyed mini van has New York plates. I bet that was a rough ride home!
10/08/06 Ned Stites III That Bobcat was my best friend Cliff LeBlanc's brother Bobby's car. They
drove it from Millville, NJ every week to Flemington. He doesn't own a computer and when I let him see the picture he was really surprised.

I wasn't there that night, but I did see a tire go out there on another night, same area.   It hit the seats first right near Doug Hoffman's mother. I ran down from the grandstand to see if she was OK. She said it landed on somebody's cooler and obliterated it. Then it went to the parking lot and hit a car. That was a Sportsman heat or hot laps for Sportsman I think.
10/10/06 Allen It's a good thing the tire didn't hit the Bobcat! There might've been an explosion!
05.23.10 Ken Stull I have a few of those bumper stickers if anybody is interested .

I watched that thing from the 3rd. turn stands, and if I remember correctly it had the axle and brake drum attached.  I often wondered why it never made the racing papers? Negative content?
