01/21/07 | 3-Wide | I don't know how many of you will feel the same way,
but for me, this photo provided by Kevin Inglin is another top 10 photo of the
Vault. There's a lot going on here - A real lot. ...The last race on dirt..., the shadows..., the fans sitting in the darkness of the background. The history of the first turn..., the dust of the track rising up as the #17 powers over that same clay with horsepower and determination... ...and the relaxed posture of the flagman... just standing there, witnessing the end of it all. |
01/21/07 | Hank Winecker | My new all time favorite photo in the Vault. No
one but no one was as exciting as Toby Jr at the square. Congratulations Kevin on
one FINE photo. Hank Winecker p.s. Well maybe a match race between Toby Jr and Al Michaelchuk...... |
01/21/07 | 3-Wide | Some guys just seemed to drive in a little harder than others and I'd have to agree with Hank with his 2 choices! |
01/23/07 | Bill Hanna | Great Shot of Toby Jr @ "The Square". It's too bad Flemington didn't keep the dirt longer for this talent. By the way, the cornerman is Andy Roscoe. |
02/05/07 | Todd Lewis | He was NUTS at the Square what a talent to watch, I also recall him running a lightweight up at Fulton for the Vic 200 and taking it all the way to the topside making a 4 wide pack into 5 wide while staying on the throttle the entire way. |
02/27/07 | BOBBY FIORELLO | WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE PAUL MADE PAVING THIS GREAT TRACK.
DON JONES HAD THE BLACK GOLD. MONEY TALKS PAUL - DID YOU MAKE DON AN
OFFER FOR SOME BLACK GOLD? I WENT TO THE FIRST RACE AND THAT WAS IT FOR ME -
LOST INTEREST. NOW ITS GONE FOREVER. |
08/25/07 | Richard Francis | This was the same car that Toby Jr. used at Syracuse to win the "Non-Qualifier's" Race, running the outside groove. Richie started on the pole for the last dirt race at Flemington. Very eerie, considering his family's ill-fated history at the track... |
11.12.10 | Steve Kresge | Is this where they got the saying 'HIGH, WIDE AND HANDSOME' |
