Billy was just coming into his own as a driver when his
dad passed away. I remember him one night EWS he was running strong, got to second in the
feature and started to track down "kingpin" Doug Hoffman in his 60over until he
broke with about 10 to go. The "A" was always a sharp car, miss seeing it..... |

I might be off on this a little, but I think what the
race that you were talking about might have been in 1993 or 94. (I crewed on this
car through 92 or 93.) I think Doug actually broke and Billy had the lead in the feature
with about 10 to go and it started smoking real bad. I don't know if he was blacked
flagged or if he pulled off on his own with about 5 to go, but it sure would have been
great if Billy could have held on for just a few more laps to win one for his dad. |

I used to be on the A car crew, I
remember one night at EWS Billy Pauch blew a motor in the first feature of triple 20's, he
hopped in the A car and drove it to a top 5 finish. |

HE LEFT THE SPORT. BIG B, CHARLIE ANCELO, THE CREW ALWAYS HAD THE SHARPEST RACERS.
IN FACT, I USED TO COPY THE PAINT IDEAS FROM THE 70,S WHEN I CREWED ON
THE K3. (THAT'S ME IN THE BACKGROUND WORKING ON 747 IN THE COVERALLS). |
