from Thom: I'm not certain of the photographer, I do own the original photo,
from Wall Stadium in, I believe, 1984. This is Charlie Kremer Jr. & III in victory lane with the Whales 28 Pontiac. He drove this car, filling in for Jamie Tomaino, to victory in one of his first few races back after the accident that wrecked the family owned cavalier in '82. I remember Charlie stating when asked about what it was like to be behind the wheel that, "This car is like it is on a rail around here." |

11/18/07 | Kevin McElvaine | It was at Wall Satdium, so it was probably a Travco Photos pic. I think there was a 2nd team car painted up just like this car. different # but same paint scheme. Pretty sure I have photos of both in my own "picture vault" |
11/20/07 | Thom Levers | I spoke to my brother about this last evening and he told me that the second car, to his memory, was the #58 and it was driven by Sal Moschella Jr. |
11/20/07 | Allen Clark | Do I see a really weird configuration to the header coming out of this side? Looks like they are spread way out. Was this how they were keeping them within the body work at this time? This is a Troyer and I remember in the early '80's, the right side was real sleek and the headers couldn't be seen because the whole right side was covered in tin. |
11/22/07 | Kevin Eyres | This was a great night at Wall Stadium to see one of it's best drivers return from injury and win again. Charlie and his Dad really had things figured out in the 60's & 70's winning a lot of races and championships. In the 70's you were either a Kremmer fan or a Hearne fan. What a rivalry! Great to see Charlie Jr. And Charlie 3rd, every Saturday at Wall and still winning races like Sr. and Jr. did. |
11/24/07 | Rob Hass | That picture is from the August 27, 1983 race. Kremer won the Pocono Race of Champions spot to represent Wall Stadium that night. It was also win number 50 for him at Wall. |
11/25/07 | Jim L | Charlie seemed to have a knack at putting various cars in victory lane. Full Mod Schulthorpe 2jr Schulthorpe 55 Harvey x-9 Karakaris 84 Whale 28 Savage 26 and of course Pop's77 Small Block Mod Alt 80 Megill 58 Pro 4 Serpentelli 6 |
