Comments: Comment from Michael:  Regarding the pictures above, the first is my uncle, Mike Stevens (2nd generation driver) after his first Wall Stadium feature win. This was his most successful season, 1982, in the then sportsman class. The photo was taken by Travco Photo---likely Ralph Jones.

The bottom photo is also Mike, but about 2 years earlier in a different sportsman car at New Egypt Speedway (paved), Ace Lane Jr. photo.

07/26/06 Kevin Eyres Spanker was alot of fun to race with. Always fast and clean. Was even more fun off the track!
07/26/06 Robert Jobes Mike,  I might have been young back then but I remember going to Wall and New Egypt to watch my uncle run his number 38 sportsman.  I was wondering if you might have pictures of your uncle racing on the track with my Uncle Jim Jobes.
07/27/06 Michael Kent I don't have any private photographs that contain the #38, but I have a handful of "Wall Reviews" from 82' & 83'. If there are any pics of your Uncle's car in a duplicate one, it's yours.  I found a couple of pics of Mike's first S-1 car on the Atlantic City Speedway website; you might check there also!
07/28/06 Brian Baker The two cars look to be the same cat with different motor configurations. Any idea where this car ended up?
07/29/06 Michael Kent the car in the top pic is awaiting restoration by GSVSCA member, ken pullen.  additionally, i will be re-creating mike's last S-1 modified car with a rossell-built chassis that was started by my late uncle over 15 years ago, but never finished. i will be sure to take plenty of pics of the project.
08/31/06 R Jobes hey mike can you forward the link to the ac site to me and also if you have any duplicates of the wall review let me know i have been looking for some older copys of them cause i am also looking for the 83 mod of john megill you can email me at rjobes@comcast.net
