01/22/05 Bruce Now this car should have been put in some kind of museum...  I think it's a real piece of art.    I like it better than that bat mobile - Bruce
01/24/05 John Mc Sorry to disappoint Bruce, but I think this may have been the Batmobile in a new dress!
01/25/05 Bob Scott Bruce is right.  The year is 1987 and the driver was Merv....

I did some research from the old SDW programs (have from 81 - last years) for the history of the infamous "Batmobile" and this is what it turned up....

1980 The original #112 Balough driving walked the race
1981 Version #2 #73 Torino/Mustang?? body Anthony IV driving DNQ
1982 Did not enter race
1983 Entered with A F IV as driver but never showed
1984 Version #3 #73 had another "not typical" Gremlin/Eagle type body, A F IV driving started 19th finished 43rd
1985 Entered wih A F IV did not show
1986 Version #4 &  #73 had yet again non typical body compared the the usual Gremlin/Eagle style bodies typical of the day.. Doug Wolfgang was the original driver and after not being able to get in on time they put Will Cagle in the car. Will made it in through on of the semis on Saturday and started 35th and finished 27th
1987 Version #5 #73 the last time it raced @ SDW with Merv as driver. Started 26th and finished 47th

I have photos of all 5 versions of the BATMOBILE but need to find Version 3 which I know I have somewhere in my photos........
04/02/05 Mike from Montreal Did Bob Scott find version three of the infamous Batmobile and if he have find it,many people should be very happy to see the five version.
Thank you, Mike from Montreal
12/29/05 Brad K This race car is just AWESOME looking, you are right, it should have been put in some kind of museum, this machine is TRULY a THING OF BEAUTY.
12.02.10 CHIP I'm sure Ken Brenn drove this car at Syracuse in 1988.
12.02.13 Dryricha
