Comments: Comment:  Technically, I think it's actually Jim Horton Jr... but if we put that you might confuse it with Jimmy Horton (who is actually Jim Horton III).  And the reason for the confusion is that while being one of the most successful and most ingenious car owners/builders of the decades including the 50's to current, Jim Horton (Sr.), or "Coach" as he is often referred to didn't really decide to take a turn behind the wheel until sometime in the 1980's at which time I'm pretty sure that Jim was probably in his 50's.  Jim will also tell you about a time in the 50's when he took a turn behind the wheel that.. well... let's just say it didn't go well.  As a result Jim concentrated on car building and had such drivers at Dudey Babey, Mike Grbac, Sammy Beavers, Fritz Epright (and many more), and most recently, Jimmy Horton IV.

A man of few words, but a walking encyclopedia of everything having to do with local short track racing in the NJ/PA going on 7 decades...  One of the only guys that you can meet that knew how to set up a car for the 50's and knows how to set one up of today's machines to compete this weekend at your local short track.
