Comment from Wayne: I'd like to provide this photo to be put
in your vault in memory of John Romano Sr.. I'm surprised that there
is nothing of John in the '80's vault, as he was a steady figure at East
Windsor Speedway at that time. My name is Wayne Moschella and I was on his crew from 1988 till around late 1993. I remain a friend of the Romano/ Cook families. John and Inez gave me an experience I will never forget. I was there for the 25th anniversary EWS celebration and remember Mike Lyons "leaving the house". I really miss that place, met some really great people there! In retrospect, it's amazing that John was able to do what he did given his resources- probably be impossible today. It's true that he would go way out of his way to help another racer or friend- even if it meant compromising his own effort! I believe the photo was from the '89 season by Bruce Barmore at EWS. |
